The guard is of 416 stainless that color matches the blade. Any sort of post shaping finish, or is the stabilizer fully saturated throughout and all you gotta do is buff/polish? that thing is a real beauty. I grind to shape wet with a diamond belt then buff. Willie nelson had a song with a line about a cowboy: " you can die from the cold in the arms of a night mare,,,," it is kinda like that.
