Okay its been a while.... I have uploaded another series of pictures showing air gate & control, ash dump, motor & blower mounted & my first fire in my Album Gallery "Fabricated Coal Forge".

This was a great project with lots of challenges including today when I was sitting on the floor lining up the air gate mechanism when the bloody very heavy handle decided to move hitting me square on the head...... Well I saw stars, you know the feeling it hurts that much you can't even swear

Looks like your blower will blow your fire right out of the forge without the air gate. It looks really great and I love your setup.

Thanks Rob, the blower is leaking oil a bit so I will need to recondition it soon but it works very well. I was concerned about the size of the gap between the firepot and clinker breaker but all good; heated up the coil spring in no time.

The whole setup looks fantastic Locky you must be very pleased. A lot of thought and hard work has gone into the project, thanks for sharing the photos and diagrams with us

Wow, that's quite the step-by-step. Much appreciated by all. Yeah, that's some blower, don't point it this direction please.

That homemade forge looks better then anything you could ever buy! Good job, have fun on it you will have.

How's the forge holding up 5 years on?    Anything you would change with some time in use?
