Sam Thompson
It's pretty well described here: BP0060 Rebuilding a Vise | Blueprints 000-
tyro
It's pretty well described here: BP0060 Rebuilding a Vise | Blueprints 000-100 The problem is I don't know what spelter is or what flux to use. Is spelter ground brass or just brazing rod? borax flux or should I get brazing flux?. I'm pretty confident I can make the thread.........Thanks

ThomasPowers
Spelter is brass used for brazing. I'd go with a brazing flux from your local welding supply shop. This is rather a tricky project for a first go at a new to you process!
Sam Thompson
The method in the BP involves a lot of heat in a large lump of metal. If you are not used to handling this kind of thing or don't have the right tools then it would be very difficult and dangerous to try this.
