Ironwork2Remember
hey everyone! my name is seth Riedel, im a blacksmith from Seville, Ohio. Ive been blacksmithing since i was 12 at which point i started collecting smithing tools to use. shortly after, when my father left, he took and sold many of the tools that had belonged to me, so my smithing had slowed considerably for about a year at 14-15. now i am 18 and work full time as a blacksmith. Thats my story. Not quite certain if thats what this introductory was supposed to be like. If not, ill try again? Thanks!
trying-it
Welcome to IFI. Tools may come and go, but the inner fire burns on! Hope to see some pics of your work soon.
Frosty
Welcome aboard Seth, glad to have you. I think you nailed the intro. It isn't the tools that make the smith, it's the SMITH that makes the tools. If you'll click "User CP" at the top of the page and edit your profile to show your location it can make a big difference. IFI is represented by members from more than 50 countries and a lot of info is location specific. Also if local folk know you're there they can invite you to gatherings, tip you to tool deals and offer hands on help. Most importantly though, us old farts won't have to try remembering who's in the area when we're traveling and want a snack or place to take a nap. You DO have a comfy couch I trust? Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
Welcome I2R. Don't mind Frosty, he's gettin' a little senile. Oops, I mean pubescently challenged. He just cuts and pastes stock answers nowadays. He suffers CRS, PMS and GKWE*, but he's still my BFF! Oow, flame on! *God Knows What Else Edited June 12, 2009 by nakedanvil
