Dillon Sculpture
Very nice work! I know a few people who ride, still cant wrap my head around how they are made, any chance showing pictures of the process?
ironstein
Jevaccaro, beautiful work! You and Tophand are proffessional spur makers right? I've seen great posts from you at bitsandspurs forum. I'm sure everyone on this site would love to see a tutorial on how spurs are made, i know i would. Thanks for posting. Brian
Mike C
Here is my latest pair. I get the buttons and swivels from Ranch2Arena.com and the rowels I pic up where I find them. Store bought rowels are too perfect not to use them. I've also bought Garcia rowels for other spurs I've made.
bigfootnampa
Both pairs of spurs are beautiful. I've built the rasp spurs enough but the ones made from the sucker rod look great as well. I have some sucker rod and am wondering if anyone knows the carbon content this medium usually has?? Thanks Most of it seems to be 4140... around here they never used it though... only wooden rods. What I have I have gleaned from other locales. It could vary depending on where you get it. I have bought it from other smiths who were confident that what they had was 4140.
