I'm sure you are aware of the HABA group, not sure as to how many bladesmiths that are down there but still a good bunch to hook up with. If you ever venture this far north give me a holler, my shop is always open. I've got a bunch of kinfolk in the Conroe/Woodlands area but none of them play in the fire.
