Hello from North Texas

Featured Replies

Hi everybody, I am a 16 high school junior who has always been facinated by metal working and blacksmithing in particular. I live about an hour north of Dalas/Ft. Worth on the border between OK and TX. (I live in TX) I just recently decided to see if I could start to actually work metal and found this site and used the blueprints to make myself a forge and I am currently working of a homemade anvil.
I look forward to frequenting these forums!

Check your other thread, I mentioned the 4 Blacksmith groups here in TEXAS. Also, since you are near Oklahoma, you might be interested in Saltfork Craftesmen and Artist Blacksmith Association. We meet somewhere in OK or TX every Sat of the month, there are 4 regions with a meeting for each region. So you COULD go to a meeting EVERY Sat of the month!:) Here is the site Saltfork Craftsmen Check us out. We enjoy helping young men/women get started!

Welcome aboard TexasRebel, glad to have ya.

If you'll click "User CP" and edit your profile to show your location it'll make a big difference. IFI is represented by members from more than 50 countries and a lot of info is location specific. That and if folk know you're in the area they can tip you to get togethers, tool deals and offer hands on help.
