Haha i wondered the same. Id have to guess its out of a farriers forge. I had seen chat of a few burners on here with 1/8” holes so thought id ask. It did have a few small pieces of fire brick on the burner side when I found it. Thanks for all the responses guys. I think it would be far easier to build a modern fit for purpose ribbon burner off of plans from here. Maybe ill make a steak on this one.

Hi guys i am looking to draw from your wisdom and experience. Im way to new to this to know enough about ribbon burners. I found an old cast burner in the barnyard a few years ago and have had it on the shelf ever since. I now realize what it is but wondered if you could help me with some knowledge on it. Im wondering basically about how many btus it would put out to then build an appropriate sized forge. I have the dimensions in the pics but it has 122 1/8” holes with a 1 7/8” mouth. Its about 10 1/2” x 4”. I am in Michigan so about 8-900 ft above sea level. I like making fire irons and different useful things. An occasional blade. Thanks a ton!
