  1. This is my new treadle hammer. I bought it from a friend a few weeks ago. It's well built and hits hard. The base in which the bottom die sits upon is solid to the ground. This hammer is HEAVY and was hard to move between my son and I.

    That whomper stomper Treadle hammer looks mighty nice,do you find it to work to all your needs.Did you have plans or build her out of your head,looks well made.

    What was in the tank? Have you cut into it yet? I am not trying to mind your business, but please be SURE you know what was in the tank before you start to cut into it. You sound like a neat person and I would hate for you to go boom :) .

    Yes i Agree with Leah i was cutting the top off an (what i found out later was an avgas drum)and it went boom blew top clean off just about took my head off.fill it with water first.

  3. Has anyone got any idea what this is? It's tapered and it's got a square, left-handed thread. The shank shows signs of having been turned clockwise in a chuck. It doesn't look like an east-out, which usually fit into a tap wrench and the material appears to be softer (marks on shank).

  4. I`m building a Gas Forge simular to the Gary Ford design in BluePrints,
    And i`m havin trouble with main Jet size please can someone help out what would be the best size to use Thanks so much in advance:confused:
    I`m using LPG or natural gas

Hi guys thanks for the help, i have some mud off the track to cut down the forge size,Thanks rmcpb.Frosty you ask what the Rod is coming out of the Tuyere,If i pull that out it clears out all the fire ash and keeps it all clean, i have a small half disc welded on the end.works great.I do have a hand blower coming,so will save on fuel big time,Thanks for your all help muchly appreciated

  6. I have a heater fan out an old car,if i run it flat out it blows all the coals out,so i put two 12 volt light bulbs inline and that slows it down just good.i use my tractor battery has heaps of grunt.lasts a few days till i need to recharge it.

  7. Hi I`m new to this forum,and not sure how it all works,anyway i`m building a power hamer out of old junk i have lying around.works fine but i`m wondering if some one could help out,whats the best style of spring that sits on the top of a power hammer heavy truck or light trailer type.
