  1. I am curious about the Perun anvils, I see they are called forged anvils but they also say they are cast from alloy steel, is it cast or forged? Anyone own or has used one?
  2. ive been working around steel for a long time, maybe when I die, smelt me and make a bottle opener
  3. I have been looking at two different design power hammer builds and would be very appreciative of any pros and cons or the two different hammers, if anyone has built or used either or both.
  4. have you thought about pvc, pipe insulation and duct tape?
  5. Anyone have experience with a Dayton 1tdn7 blower on a coal forge. My feed pipe is 2.5 in. and my clinker breaker is a 1.75 In plug in the center of that. the blower says it puts out 50 cfm. but I have no idea what pressure it puts out or what I will need.
  6. Did you hone it to a fine edge?
  7. Wow the ebay pot looks almost like mine
  8. I have been reading that a coal or coke firebox needs to be cast and 1" thick, Yet I see a lot of homemade forges where the firebox is 1/2" plate. My forge design is with 1/2" plate. Should i worry about melting the box out in the middle of a project and dropping to the floor?
  9. Hello every one. Name is Dennis. I am from Newton KS. I have been in metal for many years but never blacksmithing. I have spent many hours online researching the craft and have decided on making a coal forge. My basic design for firebox is ready for laser cutting. I will set up out back on a slab I have. I worry about the weather so there will be, at least a carport above me. I find myself overwhelmed on anvil's. For the price I don't want to buy one to small. I am interested in knife, sword and ornamental metal working. I see that I can chase ebay for months or buy new. Any experience you would like to share on anvil size would be appreciated.
