  1. Hi wanted to ask you more experience guys about the correct way to approach the anvil as most seem to stand with the bick facing to there left. Whats the reason for this and does this also apply if your left handed as I am?
  2. Two US navy destroyers ww1 4 stack I think docked at queenstown Ireland ,spare parts being forged for 4" gun.
  3. This one belonged to my grandmother. Do you make them out of spring steel?

Thanks all, surprised how old this thing is,I did put it on a set of scales and it weights around 262lbs can`t make out any weight numbers on it..I have done rebound test hammer only seems ok about the same as my cast steel anvil. Plate seem to be secure and has a nice ring(never owned a forged anvil with a top plate) but edges are badly rounded. Anyway will give it a go when I get it on a stand.
  5. Hi guys picked up this old anvil has what I think is the Wilkinson sign,can`t make out much more, weights just over 260 pounds.Seen a lot of use just wondered if anyone can put a age on it.
