Very nice work!

They are out there, FlatLiner. Took me many years to find one in good enough condition when I had the money available and at a price I thought was fair. Never found one for even $3-$4 a pound in the last several years which is what I had hoped for. Very glad that mine is on the way Hang in there and keep saving and looking.

That really sucks! Nightmare stuff there, 'cept it actually happened. Glad you continued one

Pleasant surprise
Mine is being delivered to a trucking company [saved about $250] and I will need to go pick it up after it gets there. Not yet

Interesting thread! Good to watch your evolution. Please continue to post as your knives progress.

Supposed to get to the trucking company today!
I think my current baby is a PW, around 150 pounds. And it will go away after the new one gets in the shop and has been used for a week or so. Maybe I won't like the new one [yeah, that's gonna happen].

Jim, I need both hands free to manipulate the work.
But thanks for trying!

Jim, could I bother you for a couple of really close ups of the parts that stop the chisel from spinning? I am ready to start!
Thanks,

Very clean work- I like them, too!

I guess I am in a brain-dead state!
I need to have both hands free to guide the work.
Tried several things to no avail.
Anyone have pictures [which even in my current state seem to work best for me] of your setup that works?
I am working on a project right now, many large feathers, and if I could get this to work it would save me a H U G E amount of time.
Crossing my fingers that you guys can bail me out, here.....
Thanks,
Dave

Very nice work, Sir! Thanks for sharing!

SO- has anyone here actually used their induction forge to make Damascus from scratch through some finished knives? I thought I had read somewhere that Tom Ferry had done so, but now can't find anything about it...
TIA

I am interested in another Hofi of about 1.5 or 1.75 pounds, depending on price, Glenn.

Are you gonna get more hammers, too?

Must have been while I was away, Glenn. I for sure would have bought one from you had I known.
Dave
I bought a control kit for my Kinyon style hammer from Ken. Made a 1,000 % difference in usability and control. Were I ever to look for another air hammer I would buy from Ken. First-rate folks to deal with- all of them.

Very nice, Jeremy!

You ARE lucky- in many, many ways, Jim! I love your blacksmith figure, too

Motor question- VFD or single phase

I have a variable speed grinder and a single speed grinder with reducing pulleys- the variable speed is WAY more useful to me. Both are 220 single phase. I bought the single speed before I learned to listen when folks said penny-wise and pound foolish
