I have the lincoln sp-100 and love it any of the big three will serve you well.......stay away from the china cheapos they suck. I have used a few of the cheap H.F. ones and did not like them one bit

nickle 44 rod is great stuff preheat and postheat 250 to350 if this does not take brass rod and flux

look it up but alot of ball bearings and race are 52100 hard to work but strong.

use 70S at 200 deg. thats what I have done hope it helps

O-1 makes great blades but is hard as xxxx to work ,1085 is better to work and heat treats easy. but I love 5160 :)

it was a used shaft from a blower cut in half .(I work in a large machine shop) and other hammers are 2lbs dogleg(15deg. ) and a old 4lb. blacksmith ?. and thanks I love this anvil its easy to go from side to side of a blade much better than a london style. :)
