Nice. I am a few miles away from changing my chain may have to try that set up out

Very cool axe. Leaf springs are a bear to forge good job

I still have a 10'X25' weld shop that I keep most of the big machines and grinders in. Hopefully I won't run out of room for a bit. But you are right if you have room a tool gets put there. But the shop cost me my tool budget for the year so I will be fine till next year ;)
And Neg. That's one nice shop -
That is one good looking blade.
-
Just put a lot of beeswax on it hid all the imperfections on mine ;)

I have vents in the roofline and one window on the side. Do you get too much light with the skylight ? And I may need to build the kid a shop so I don't get in her way ;)
And yes that is a NC knife maker forge. It's nice but I am thinking of turning into a single burner to save fuel. The two heat zones seem to be a waste. -
Thanks. And she is already staking out a spot for her little anvil. Maybe I can add a wing for her later

Have you looked into the Nimba centurion ? I love mine. The ring is not bad and it moves metal well. Shipping freight was not expensive at all

Very nice work

That looks good. The last time I tried one like that it was a complete failure. After seeing yours I may have to try again. Nice work

Not bad. I tested my first couple of blades to destruction. One way to find out if your heat treating worked. Although it does suck to put a lot of energy into something just to watch it break but that's how I found out that I wasn't tempering well enough

You should look into a propane forge. It makes for happier neighbors, coal fires have a smell that not everyone likes. Propane and a lot of chains and magnets on my anvil keep my neighbors ignoring all my banging around in north Oakland

good stuff I like the shape.

Man that is one good looking blade.

Thanks, the horse radish you dab onto the blade and wait an hour, wash it off and repeat a couple of times. It gives it a black finish and an old look. And the coil on the end balances the blade. The blade and the handle are the same length and I tapered the end of the handle to make the coil so it balances the blade and feels good in the hand.

Thats one brute of a blade I like it keep it up.
