  10. I forge with m_brothers and i am looking for all of my own equiptment. i am looking for a reasonable price on a blower, and an anvil (a good beginners anvil, 125-200#). if anyone has an extra one it would be great if they could contact me. also any good advise for starting out and what tools are needed would be greatly appreciated. the tools i have now are a drill press, hammers, tongs, and i will soon be making my forge. the tools that i will eventually be getting are a bench grinder, portable grinder, and a belt sander. Thanks much, Quentin

    new knife

this is the third knife that i have made. i will probably grind and sand the whole blade down more, and put handle on all of them. this knife is made out of a leaf spring. the knife has been tempered and heat treated. feel free to criticize.
  13. these are the two knives that i made so far. i am working on finishing up a third one on friday. for right now i am not going to do anything with the handles until i learn a little more about how to do it properly. they were both made out of leaf springs. both of the knives were hardened and tempered. feel free to criticize them.
  14. i will do something with the handle eventually, i just dont know what or when i will yet
  15. these are the two knives that i made so far
  16. the machete ended up being about 24 inches long, but there was a crack in the handle and when i was swinging it at a vine it snapped in two. now im just going to draw what is left of the handle into a tine and make a nice handle for it.
  17. looks good john. i started my knife later that night and i finished it early the next morning. my knife started out shorter than his, but ended up being a little less than an inch longer than his. the weird thing is that they are almost identical.
  18. not bad john...its Quentin, i got your voicemail at 630 this morning.
  19. five alarm forge is the name of m_brothers (John) and my (Quentin) forge.
