xmas gifts.
being winter I have to wait for warmer spells (anything above 10F) before I open the garage door and light a fire in my gasser, but this long thanksgiving weekend co-operated and I made a curtain rod, a set of chisels, two knives and a corkscrew. Now the finish work like sanding on them can be done when it's to cold to have the door open. :D -
Excellent! really nice to see such fine work.
most of our locally made beer needs an opener so I need to try one of these, it will go well with the corkscrew Hofi demo'd -
Be sure to let us see your first project! it really is addictive.
I had been working metal all my life and once I got my forge I suddenly felt like a complete fool for wasting all that hard work sweat and frustration trying to do things cold. Now I just waste all that hard work on hot metal...
And it's not nearly as frustrating. -
yeah, makes my knees weak looking at it. My guess is the ball is forged as well?

those sure look like great presents!

they are nice looking. bet you will be able to make them blindfolded after 70...
How did you form the celtic ones, was it that unfolding trick? -
Mark is my favorite writer on blacksmithing, everytime I read it I learn something new.

Great job. You can see a lot of hard work went into them, no easy to see what stock you started out with. :)
