Saw this anvil at a junk yard. Only an idiot do this to an anvil

Got another 2 anvils for my collection. One is 600lb and the other one is 200lb. The smaller one has the letters JB on it which i believe is a John Brooks.

I got this soderforge anvil today. The top still looks in a good condition, the sides are hammered full of little holes, which i dont understand, almost destroyed all the markings. Your oppinion is gladly appreciated. On the one side the date is poorly visible ........19?? I cant make out the rest

Thanks, yes you are 100% correct, the markings JR are low on the waist, i will try and scan for other markings, althoug its very faint

Got this 140lb anvil today, looks like its got 2 horns, the only markings on it is the letters JR. Can anyone identify it perhaps?
