Just noticed your post,, Thanks Dan,, I hang out with a Group called the Possum Trot Forge Council, And we normaly meet the last sunday of the month, My big problem is lack of time, Trucking is very demanding, And I normaly get in for one day , and that don't leave alot of time for forging or anything else..

I don't know where you from, But you have a good start, You found I Forge Iron, and The help is here , Like Glenn said above you can make most of what you need, if you need help just ask.
Also you may want to find a Blacksmithing group in your area and join them, That will be a big help , ..
let us know how your doiing and welcome to the site ,, You might want to go to your CP and put in your location, Where your From,, Shoot you may have a neighbor that is a member here...I wish you well..Tom -
I havn't been doing blacksmithing long and I'm attempting to make a bbq fork based on this blue print.
BP0154 BBQ Fork
I started on it yesterday and got it to the T part and nite time ended my day.
I'm doing mine a little different then the one thats here, I don't have a grooving tool like the one thats pictured , Plus I want to do the handle alittle different, I'm going to see if I can get the hen to come out and take picture's of my progress, and once I get it done i'll post some pic's on here. Hey Clifton, What part of Tennessee are you from,, You can go to your CP and add your location,That way if someone is in the Area, They might be able to help you out.. I may be able to help you out, I got one at the house that needs work..But I ain't sure what kind it is...

Welcome to the site Greg, You'll find all kinds of good info here. Besure and check out the friday nit knife chats. I think it starts around ten pm Central Time..
Also you can go into USER CP , And add your location, That will also help,, You May have a neighbor here on this site.. -
I would suggest That you make you a box, That you could lift up into the tail gate, And have a gate type set up on the box so you can slide out what ever you lift up. Not sure what you would want to make it out of.. Probably alum..
You could also take a 55 Gl drum and cut it in half, "longway" and make you a gate on one end, and You put wheels on it, So when you lift something up in the truck you could roll it to the area you want it,,Then dump it out,Then go get some more stuff to put in your truck. -

I use a squirrel cage.( heater motor) outta a 64 chevy truck. it works pretty good,Plenty of air, I just need to fix a switch on it so I can turn it off and on easier.

Hello Jason and welcome to the site, You'll probably want to make you some tongs and tools to forge with, You can find all kinds of good idea's in the Blueprint section. I also have a drum forge, and it works pretty darn good. I have a squirrel cage " Heater Motor" outta a 64 chevy truck, and it supplys the air..
