Location will help in valuation. Pictures too!!

Agreeing with the above comments. Just put it on your bench for when you need to set a rivet in leather or other light duty items. Clean it up and paint it nice, it could be a nice conversation starter in your shop.

Wilderness Medic... you ski patrol? I tried out for them, medical skills good, skiing skills, not so good.
Looking forward to your many posts of your accomplishments. If you're every in the central CA area ( I'm just south of Yosemite), drop me a line here.

I'd say you just earned some points for realizing the defects and making it into a wall hanger. I had a guy come to my shop several years ago to learn the basics. Started him out doing tapers, points and some draws. Then he just HAD TO MAKE A KNIFE! I gave some junk piece of metal I had laying around and had him put a point on it, do a taper and draw it out...Told him when it was done that it would make a fine butter knife.
My point is that to make any forging experience an educational one.
Hope to see you at one of the CBA meets sometime.
Looking at your avatar, you in the fire service? I'm retired from Fed Fire, 32 years.

Congratulations! Sometimes a seller will make the deal real nice!
As far as getting it home, I've had good luck with using a tow truck to place them on a trailer.

Is it a right or left handed highly coveted crank thingy?

I like the turn buckles holding it together! I think that one has been up for over a year. The one I mentioned earlier was a buy it now and it's GONE! I was kinda surprised. It was misleading on shipping, it had the "free shipping" banner on it but the fine print said come and get it only...

I know you'll enjoy your new forge! I sure like mine!!

It was wired for single phase on a 3/4hp motor. And it was missing just a "little" of the babbet bearing.
Now it's one of those "when it rains it pours", there's another 25#r LG for sale on that e site for 1,500. It's down in Dinuba, maybe a hour plus drive. It's an old style but from the pics it has a funky looking bottom die mount. Sloped at an high angle that doesn't look right. I'm not going to post pics of this one, folks can go look it up themselves. No motor either... -
Again thanks for the advice, somebody got it for 2,300+. It'll probably take over 1K to fix just the hammer, I have no idea if the original electric motor still works. The seller told me he no outlet that matched the plug to test it, another red flag!

My wife also spins (also named Joanne), she really likes to use one of her inkle looms at Ren Faires. I used to make chainmaile, but got sick of it after nearly 20 years. At Faires where I don't smith at I make scale maile to occupy my time.

Thanks for the feedback so far! I have 2 other LG's at home and I don't desperately need another one. I was trying to factor in location and the lack of shipping costs into this but Jeremy's comment hit it on the head, it's too worn out for that price. If I was able to purchase it for much less, I would consider it. Much like the 100#'r I got for scrap prices. Does need a complete rebuild and I plan on that after taking the LG class next March.

Looking at this 25# LG on that "e" site. I had bid just over 2K and have just been outbid. It does need new main bearings but I'm most concerned with the toggle arm pins at the ram. Is this an easy fix? I do know that you can get 1/8" oversize pins, but this one looks like it maybe over that from the picture below. I went and looked at this powerhammer last weekend for it's only 30 minutes from me and observed no cracks and no other worn out parts. Yes it does need the toggle arms replaced for I would worry about the brazing job done to them sometime in the past.
So.....is it worth going any higher? Auction ends tomorrow.
Thanks

Here's my three legged stand I did for a 150# Trenton. Very stable on uneven ground and very quite since I filled the legs with compressed decomposed granite. Also used a piece of 5/8" plywood under the anvil to help with the noise. Some people like the loud ring, I prefer it quieter. My main anvil right now at home is a 150# Fisher, love the lack of high pitched ring.

I feel the pain of Charles, my wife is also a historical costumer. Always needing more storage for fabric and costumes. Back to the subject at hand, I have a '98 Dodge diesel 4X4 (live in snow country) pickup with a camper shell. 190k miles.

I did the exact same thing as "arkie", liked the silversmithing segment but the rest of the show was lacking.

The mount looks just like one I have for a Champion blower. The ash dump is different than mine though.

I'm on a PC and I can't pull them up.

Really nice looking set! Is it possible to get a close up shot of them? I couldn't get a good look by just blowing up the pic.
Thanks!

I may try a pair of this design sometime too.

From a retired firefighter (32 years) to an active one, welcome! Yes Frosty, fire does get in the blood.
People ask me all the time, how are you enjoying retirement? My reply every time is that I'm loving every day of it! -
This is a story you'll be telling your grand kids! Good job!

Very nice project! You really brought this back to life.
Would you go bigger if you could?

This is one anvil that I am looking at to purchase. It's a Habermann style anvil at 462 lbs. New never used condition.
Something to get really excited about? Pic from an archive source, not actual one for sale. I'll get those pics later this week.
I've been on the hunt for a nice South German anvil with a side shelf and was wondering anyone had experience with one of these. I do not have $ figures yet, but the seller has been very fair on other dealings.
