I use a 2 x 42 Craftsman belt sander for all my needs for hammers, tools, etc. I do not make blades and that is a different animal altogether. IMHO, the 2 x 42 would do well for anyone but a pro blade maker.

leave the metal alone......properly made/handled.......you should never need to worry about doing anything to the handle (except breaking it)/....

no, but now you mention it...while you were here, what did marcy do to my forge ??? I tried forge welding a shaft to a braided handle and it just wouldn't take...WTF ????

wow....here in northern Michigan lower peninsula we got/had over 3 feet of snow.....deeper where it piles up from the snowblower
I can emphasize, a few years ago the wife finally let me buy a snowblower and it sat for a long while before it snowed enough to use it.

I use a 15 gal SS beer keg for the water quench tank, a 7.5 gal barrel with lid for oil quench, but this time of year I usually use the snow bank in front of the shop...
don't you have a long snow bank up there Frosty ???

NickOHH and his sidekick Marcy stopped by my shop today for a visit. A good time... we all learned something (more beer)......made a couple items.....if'n they'd come up in a truck instead of some kind of mini compact thingy, they woulda left with more.....buy Hey! Thanks for coming by guys......

Thomas...all them pretty nice roads heading south and west are fine for them wanting to use them. Unfortunately, they lead away from the Beautiful Northern Climes.
