first axe, well, first completed and actually working axe
so, recently i went on a forging seminar and i had a few minutes to spare so i quickly made this small axe, it's not really made for use, i was just getting the feel for it, im gonna make another axe, same basic design, just larger the handle is birch, i know it's not the best wood, but i figured it would make a nice handle, seeing how light it is

simple and fast arrowheads
So, I got an idea on how to make arrowheads really fast and easy, but I'm not sure if it will work, so I'm asking here. Would it work, to take a small pipe, let's say 10mm inner diameter, something around 1mm thick, and flatten out some part of it and then either hammer the point in or do it with a grinder or bolt cutters and then leaving something about 2-3 cm left for a seat, making the whole head around 6-7 cm long, then cutting a small slot into the shaft, then sanding about 5mm of it down a bit, to make a small cone, that way it will compress a bit when put into the seat, i'll take some pics if you ask me to so, please let me know if you have heard of this method, or even tried it yourself, i would really like to know if this works

ship steel
hello, i have been wondering whether the steel that i have been using is good for axes and such, all that i know is that it is the same kind that is used for repairing ships and that it's really hard,so if anyone has any information on this, please let me know :sidenote: i have no idea whether this is the correct place to put this topic, but this is my best guess

Damascus steel, just...how
so, i am fairly new to blacksmithing if that is the right term for it, but one of the things i really want to be able to make, is a Damascus knife, and i have a faint idea on how Damascus steel is made, but i am not entirely sure, so all instructions are well appreciated

It followed me home
i found pretty much everything i have for my forging in the rubbish tank at my fathers workplace, including welding gloves, leather gloves and ear protectors, when he was making my anvil, and the rest i got from him,

newcomer from Iceland
Hello, i am quite new to forging, and have only fiddled around with small wires and a campfire, but i just literally hauled my anvil in just a few minutes ago, and hope to be able to find a log and put the anvil on it so can make a small ax. nearly all of my knowledge about forging comes from youtube and this site, i hope to learn more in the coming weeks. my goal is to make a Damascus steel knife and, if you have any tips and tricks for someone who just started, please tell me in the comments

How to make Chainmail (with pictures!)
well, this just saved me a LOT of time, i was planning on hand-twisting every single ring from a welding wire, but i was also wondering, would it be a good idea to harden the rings?
