  1. Jr - I'll second the use of the edges on my anvil (same rod{MG740} was used). It's holding up very well - JK
  2. JR Strasil's method - MG740 welding rod on the finish passes. - holding up well on my 165 lb PW. - JK
  3. Colton - I've done some small engine turning with a drill press and a pencil - use the eraser as the polisher - just a little down pressure and you have a circle mark - over lap them as you choose for a pattern. The smoother or more polished the part is to start with the better - I've also used a wood dowel rod - it holds up better than the eraser. Thats just the cheapo way I've done it to get the job done. -JK
  4. on woodys site above you have to just type in a name and something for a profile like "blacksmith" then it's an easy chat deal - simple and it works
  5. Woodys chat room is on his web site lower left corner of front page :Hanson Custom Knives
  6. Minnesota school of horseshoeing has coal - if your a member of the guild of metalsmiths you get a little better price - it's a bring your own container and shovel deal
  7. Neal - I will have the helve hammer (weather permitting) running at the Albany Pioneer Days show(Minnesota), Sept. 12,13,14, 2008. I've helped run the blacksmith shop there for the last 3 years along with other members of Central Minnesota Blacksmiths group.
