I've been told the fan from an old clothes dryer is 110 volts and works well. I haven't tried myself so don't take it as gospel. They should be easy and cheap to get at appliance shops.

The first six months I forged was with a hair dryer. They do work when you need them.

I've just renewed. Personally I have enjoyed the magazines and plan to attend the conference. This will be my first vacation away from the water. I'm looking forward to soaking up a lot of info. You can figure the price aint bad for dues. Sams club cost almost as much and that's just to let you in to spend more money.

I am very sorry Mr. Carroll. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Deb, you and Frosty both are in my prayers. I feel as though Frosty is a good friend even though I only know him on here.

Looks like an end cap for heavy pipe or access cover usually made from the same. Most are mild steel or cast steel.

If you let your fire get to low in the pot it will cause the sides to burn looking like corrosion and eventually burning holes. We have a couple that this happenned to at Tidewater. The main thing is to keep pleanty of fuel while the fire is burning. Also be careful about putting water on hot cast iron.

Guys down our way are getting the white painters canvas from Lowes or Wally World. A 9'x12' is $18. We take 2"x2" however long you want, put big nails in the ends. Put large grommets in the canvas where you want the legs and tie them down. Soak it down with 20 Mule team and water for fire resistance. They make a neat Civil War period looking shelter. I don't have a picture handy but I think you can get the idea. I've got the stuff to make one if I can get time, I'll take pictures if i do.

Good idea. I just might try that myself.

What's wrong with it? It looks like a bull chewing his cud to me.

The guys at the beach use small bolts, nuts or small plugs of any kind of metal. the best I've seen was a 16" tire on a strait spindle with 1/4 & 3/8" plugs from a punch press turned at about 5 rpm.
