I first learned to stick in Junior High. I started work in a body shop when I was 18. All any of the shops used then was gas. We welded many a car together with gas. Then went to mig. Now I.m a full time welder using stick, mig and tig. At home I have all but I prefer to use gas or forge weld.

I get mine from a craft store. A pound is about $15 . Sounds like alot but a pound goes a long way

I have one too. It came from Agrisuply. It was made in china. $110 for a 110#.
We also have several at TBG that are supposed to be Russian.

I just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I'm Travis I'm almost 50 . My son(15) and I started smithing 4 years ago. I'm a welder & maint mech. by trade. I'm a Board member for Tidewater Blacksmith's Guild. I also have a small website of my own COVINGTON FORGE AND WELDING
I built and maintain Tidewater Blacksmiths Guild.
