We have yet to ban, abolish or limit the most vile, dispicable, dangerous and outrageous weapons in the world. The Weapons of Mass Destruction: Lawyers, Lawmakers, Stupid Politicians and self serving activists.
they have prolly killed more inocent people than any others. -

HOW thats what i am asking.

i only wear gloves when i might burn my hand. sometimes i did not know that i was going to burn my hand, and then i wish that i had been wearing gloves. most of the time i dont wear gloves. i get burned alot sometimes, sometimes i dont.

i lik to preheat the metal when i hardface, it help keep the beads from cracking. i would think martensitic rod is what you should use, it air hardens. ive only used it dcep though, i dont know about ac.

allways make sure you ingot molds dont have water in them when you pour metal in them. thats when i learned what a 4rth degree burn is.

i have one of them anvils, it is a nice weight for glueing stuff together, i also use it for when i need something to beat on so i dont mess up my steel anvil. a chunk of scrap steel would be better i think.

i make charcoal from whatever wood i can get, mostly pallets. i do use lots of 2x4 cutoffs too with no problems. while i do sometimes forge with mesquite, and i even have mesquite growing all over my land, i like to save that for cooking meat. there are some charcoal ovens from back in the day up in the mountians behind my house. they made charcoal from pinyon pine to smelt silver. i can get a permit from the blm to cut 4 cords of pinyon a year. so i may try that some day. but for now pallets are easy to get and work very well.

i grew up in northeast nv, now i live down south. i will just stay with charcoal, i tried gas and dind not like it.

around here wind + fire = disaster. i wet all around my work area b4 i start my forge, and watch the sparks. i lost my house 5 years ago to a wildfire started by illegal fireworks, so maybe im more paranoid than most.

i use a miller trailblazer 302d at work, but ive never had anything better then a 110 v wire feed at home, im ready to start doing some bigger projects at home. will the ac welder run 7018 and 7024? the reason i want the ac/dc is so i can run 7018, but the ac is alot cheaper.

i make charcoal by building a fire on the ground with logs, then after its burnt real good i put the fire out with water. i bought this book Lindsay: Wood into Charcoal & Electricity and hope to try this way of making charcoal soon.

this is my forge, its made of a old washtub, fire bricks and clay. i burn charcoal, coal, wood, or what ever i can get. coal is real hard to get here. sorry i dont know how to post the thumbnail pics like everyone else.
