Welcome aboard, Manny.

I'd agree with, dablacksmith, it's a matter of personal preference. It's kinda like Chevy vs.
Ford. -
Like you, James, I would have thought that would work too. It looks like something I would have tried, if I had to. I have tried things of that sort, just to get by.....Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug!
-
I've never done a demo at any type of event. But, the best crowd control around my little shop is to ask for help. They all back up FAST!
-
Just my opinion......I'd look somewhere other than Ebay. There are anvils around if you seek them out. Most any large chunk of steel could be used for an anvil, until the one you want shows itself.

I have used a Victor for every thing, from brazing to cutting 6" plate. I wouldn't buy anything else.
-
ingenious design.

An air conditioned blacksmith shop. Now, that's classy!;)
-
Thanks for sharing, Jose. I have wondered how that would work, but never tried it.

Glad to hear about your trip to Atlanta. Congrats go out to all the new JS and MS recipients. As for folks trying to talk you down on prices, that really gets under my skin. If I wanted $90 for something, the price would be $90, not $100. To each his own, I just feel I should pay a man's price or move on and not waste his time. Or better yet, not insult him by saying his work is worth less. By the way; How do you like Ga. weather?

That is some beautiful work.
-
Very nice craftsmanship.

The first thing I ever forged, was a very large piece for some heavy machinery. The first thing I ever forged, just for the fun of it, was a split cross. It's not pretty, but I still have it.;)

I have a 96 Chevy truck. Like everyone else my tailgate is a pain in the hind quarters. In my not so humble opinion, the chain and hook on the 50& 60 model tailgates worked just fine.;)
-
That is a beauty.
-
You did a fine job. Those are my kind of knives.
-
CONGRATULATIONS, on the new addition to the toy box! :D
-
Hey Jimmy, how about some pictures. I've thought about building something like that for my truck. If I could look at yours, I would not have to strain my little brain about how to do it.;)
-
Beautiful work.

Remember, this is a temporary situation.;)

I'll put all names in the hat on the predetermined date, draw a name, this person will send his item to the next name drawn. The last name drawn will send to first name drawn. Results posted here on day of drawing. Of course, suggestions are welcome.

Is there anyone interested in a little forge and swap kind of thing?
We could decide on a forged item(fancy hook, candleholder, etc.) We could set a date to have your name in the hat. Then set a date to have your item in the mail to the recipient. Everyone who participates will receive a forged item from a fellow smith. -
Nice work. Rambo, would be very proud of this one!

very fine work.
