There is a thread on using old motor oil. In general it's nasty stuff. Spring for a gallon of veggie oil at Sams or a restaurant supply.

there are several blue prints on blowers. My first was the blower from a dead gas water heater. A bit of creative scrounging and you should easily find something that will work.

Don't have a wedding ring. I do love rings however and NEVER wear one in the shop. I'm too fond of my fingers!

I use three parts beeswax, two parts boiled linseed oil and two parts turps. Warm it slowly over an electric burner in a double boiler. I either paint it on black hot metal and then cook it a bit in the forge or apply a very thin coating with a rag. It is also a good wood finish.

According to my Dad who would fix anything that broke in any way he could. It was too cold to weld if you couldn't put down the stinger. That is if it froze to your hand.

I use AC stick and a cheap nasty flux core wire welder.

Pliers work, dunno why you couldn't do mini tongs.

Taking up smithing added one more thing for me to scream at the TV about. I do medieval re enactment so I already was screaming about things being from the wrong time period etc/ Now I scream at the "smiths" too.

On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me two sets of tongs

Right now I have a five gallon metal bucket I dug out of the local illegal dump. It works for the time being.
