i am very new at this as in never got to use my forge yet new. but i am trying to get every thing ready for when i get it up and running. do you guys think that these will work well for quinch tanks they where old acetylene and oxygen tanks that i had laying around or do you think i need to cut them down lower. one will be oil and the other water also what is recommended for the oil and is the water just straight water or is there any thing that you can add to it to make it quinch better. i will be trying to make a little bit of every thing just to learn but will mostly be knifes for know.

what is the best method of turning wood into charcoal i tried last night and it took forever to burn it all down but finale got the barrel full of cols and sealed up now that i am at that point how long should i weight before i open it up to use. are there any better methods.

well here is what i made for the bottom for the screen with it in the forge is only 3 1/2 inches deep.

since this is the first time i have ever tried to blacksmith dose this look ok the way it is mounted or should i bolt it down. the anvil will not move at all on the stump

here is another anvil that i picked up last night for 60 bucks its in the 200 + pound range any one know who it is made buy it has 1883 stamped on the side of it.

well seams like i can not use my other account for some reason to reply. but anyway i can get a hold of hardened tool steel in any size and thickness do you think that would work.
