leroyk
I am making drawing dies for a press to draw out billets to make damascus steel for knife blades. what knid of radius do i need to do this? I am thinking about using a 2 in shaft split for each half of the set of dies. Any help with this w ould be appericated. Leroyk
dablacksmith
that will work but... how many ton press? how fast does the ram move? what type of damascus pattern are you going to make? these are inportant questions because by useing drawing dies it will change the pattern... if your going to make mosaeic damascus you might want to go with flat dies so as to not distort the pattern....just my 2 cents worth... you might also want to put this question in the knife section..
