Iron Falcon 72
What does the ring at the bottom of the leg do? Is the ring the main support or is the bottom of the leg supposed to take the load? The mount I'm using is slightly smaller diameter (an old plumbing reducer) than the leg at the ring so the leg itself is carrying the load. Should I open up the reducer so the ring rests on it? Thanks.
jeremy k
I have made my vise bases so that both the ring/flange and the bottom of the leg itself are supported - that being a 3/4" plate for the bottom plate of the vise stand and a piece of pipe that the leg fits into and the pipe is tall enough, it stops at contact of the ring/flange your talking about. MLMartin
while it will support a great deal of weight i dont believe its there so much to hold the thing up as it is to keep the leg from burying into what ever it rest in. the above post sounds like a good solution.
