Hey guys, I have seen a lot of posts about the blowers, and I was wondering what i should look for to have a chance of finding a hand crank blower (i.e. garage sales, flea markets, etc.). thanks,

All of the above including Craigslist.com and EBay. There is a guy in Allentown that was selling a bunch of anvils recently on Craigslist, he might be someone who would know where you could find a blower. Also check local blacksmiths guilds. I know PA has one just don't remember their URL do a Google search.

If you have any friends in rural areas put the word out on the grape vine. Its amazing how things turn up that way, I got a post vice, blower and anvil that way. Can take a while though and you need to keep prompting.

Cheers

here is a picture of the "anvil" i have been using. It weighs in at a skimpy 20 pounds, but it's all i have to pound on for now. Sorry bout the picture quality, it was taken on my cell phone. Any ideas for how to improve this until i can get a real anvil?

Don't forget to check out any weekly auctions in your area. I recently lucked out and got a post vise for $15.00. It took a few years to find one in a reasonable price range. Where exactly are you located in Eastern Pa? Maybe you are not too far from me.
