The person I’m buying this from said it belonged to someone else who added the divot near the hardy hole. it’s about 250 to 300 pounds. Sides are pretty messed up so I can’t see any logos. Any information would be helpful

Tend to agree, the steps say Peter Wright. Looks like it's been rode hard and put up wet in farrier work, except usually farriers wallow out the hardy hole too. Nothing that crucial except maybe that chunk out of the left side. Maybe painted grey at some point too? When ya get it, take a non-knotted wire brush to it gently to remove rust, paint, and crud, then try tilting gently and rubbing a white powder like baby powder on the side, and it may bring out faint markings.
