Don A
I have decided to invest in a store-bought electric blower, so I want to go ahead and buy a good one. I have a standard Centaur Vulcan fire-pot in the forge. What is the best CFM rating for a coal forge? Any links or recommedations? Thanks, Don
Jymm Hoffman
check with Kayn & Son (Blacksmith Depot.) They have a good one for coal, next size up from the one I use for gas, may 2 larger ones. Centaur also has a good one. They are not cheap, but you should never have to replace one you buy from either source. Jymm
Don A
Thanks Jymm. I have been considering the one at Kayne's, but I was hoping someone might have a lead on an equivalant from Grainger or somewhere. The one ay Kayne's looks like it is built to last. That's probably the route I'll take. Don
Glenn
I use a small squirrel cage blower from the junk yard. Found another just like it on a later visit. Look into the machines that need cooling, copiers, etc.
Finnr
I used one for a long time that was part of an old gas water heater. Passed it on to M-Brothers who I think passed it on to hammerkid. Good stuff just dosen't die, LOL/ Finnr
