Owlbear
Hello, IFI. I have long enjoyed perusing this forum as I pursued my blacksmithing hobby intermittently over the last several years. I am now in the process of shifting from intermittent hobby to regular pastime, and in the spirit of increased seriousness and focus on this pursuit, I have graduated myself from lurker to forum participant. I look forward to many enlightening and productive discussions with my fellow members. Yours in Forgery, Owlbear

swedefiddle
Good Morning, To start, First you must start...... You need something to do, something to heat with, something to hold the hot stuff with, something to hit, something to hit with, something to hit on. Most importantly, you need to be/work SAFE!!!! Wear eye and ear protection, protect your body with sufficient clothing, wear suitable leather footwear (flip/flops are not safety approved. LOL). Owlbear
Thank you, George and Irondragon. Neil, I appreciate your words of wisdom. I'm sure I am not the only one (I hope?), but I learned the no flip flops lesson when I got my first charcoal grill. 20 years has not dulled the memory of that pain in the slightest.
