Wedge and feathers for splitting stone?

I had a couple of guys who did marble sculpture that I made feathers and wedges for. Steel didn't matter and I just made them with hammer and on the anvil. They are just too simple to need any special  equipment. I played around with them on some stonework I did. So this is just from my real world experience.  Heres some pics of the stone and log building where I used,,, occasionally,,, feathers and wedges to fit a few together. Actually, I used them just for the experience. The goal post was especially fun. A good friend did the horizontal logs. The building is 20'x40' ID.
