orchardtown forge
Hi Folks, I am a retired seaman, electronics engineer, ships master, ex Director of UK Coastguard (retired) and for the last year trained as a blacksmith at the UK National school of Blacksmithing at Hereford. My interests are Kendo, 16c Japanese armour, and am currently helping an armourer who makes 14c and 16c european armour for the re-enactment scene here in the UK. My forging is not bad, my freehand scrolls are pitiful but under the tutelage of Jamie (THE MARSHES ARMOURY) my armour skills are getting better. Am interested in your discussions on Blades, power hammers and other blacksmithing power tools. Jamie and I have acquired an old Aldays and Onion forge but have yet to fire it up, currently using my gas forge. GREAT FORUM, thanks for the free access to all the fantastic information Frank Duffin:)
