knifeclan
Hi y'all, I'm new here. I learned the art from my grandfather and am now teaching my son. I have an anvil that I need help identifying. It has a cast W at the base. Any help is appreciated. It also has a stand with T322 cast on it. I built a roll around frame for the base and it works quite well. Thanks

knifeclan
I considered that but I can find no info or pics of a West that has a cast W in the base.
ThomasPowers
As I recall it was in "Anvils in America" The smaller ones used a W and the larger ones, (going to HUGE), used the full name. Did you read the section on West in AinA? I won't be near my copy till tonight and can report on it tomorrow. I know of two 700# Wests out here in NM very handy for irrigating as the drool can replace well water.
knifeclan
Thanks for the info and help. This on weighs close to 400lbs! Also the stand, which is marked with casted numbers of t322. Thanks again for your help
