MDF
Hello, I'm from Statesboro, Georgia and I'm a welder. I'm looking into some builds for a coal forge and plan on building one. I'm interested in learning smithing so I figured I could learn a lot from you guys. I'm glad to be here.

Frosty
Welcome aboard MDF, glad to have you. If you put your general location in the header you'll find out how many of the gang live within visiting distance. A few hours with an experienced smith is worth days or weeks trying to figure things out yourself. Don't get fancy making your first forge, all the care in the world won't change the fact you WILL need something different as your skills sets develop. Go ahead, ask me how I know, super designed forges are a common trap fabricators and welders paint themselves into. Take a look at the JABOD as an example of a type of forge that's thousands of years old and in daily use in hundreds of countries today. Welcome to the addiction, this is so much fun it should be illegal. Frosty The Lucky.
