Frosty Posted February 25, 2019 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Does it say Hay Budden on the stand? I have two very different anvils, a 125 lb. Soderfors and a 206 lb. Trenton and their feet are close enough to the same measurements I can switch stands without problem and I made the stand's rims to fit them individually. Wouldn't surprise me if the foundry making anvil stands would put anybody's name and trademark in the mold for the money. Frosty The Lucky. Fire Fox Forge Posted March 2, 2019 Author Share Posted March 2, 2019 I do not see any signs of stamping. I can only find a handful of photos of HBs on cast stands and two are this same stand. Frosty Posted March 2, 2019 Share Posted March 2, 2019 Yeah it's HEAVY, it's cast iron. The small cast iron side door on our wood stove is surprisingly heavy. Have you turned it over and looked at the under side? It might have the maker's mark there where it wouldn't interfere with the mark of the company that ordered them. Do you like the anvil mounted on it? Is it the correct height for you? Does it quieten the anvil's ring? It's sure a looker, be a nice addition to a smith's shop. Frosty The Lucky.
