Gimli Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Hi everyone, I am just making a post as I am completely new to this and want to throw out some lines of communication really. I am looking at making a homemade forge for blade smithing. I used to be a chef for 7 years so have a good understanding of how to use knives, I now would like to make them. I am really looking for help, advice and any pointing in the right direction for materials, equipment and just a bit of mentoring. Thanks for looking Hope to hear from you soon! Quote
John B Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Hi, welcome to the site, Come along to one of our members days at Westpoint, (Devon County Show ground) just over a mile off the M5 junction 30 Exeter services on the A 3052 and we can have a chat to help you decide what may be suitable for your needs. We have solid fuel and gas forges of varying types and sizes you can have a look at and see what is involved in their construction, and what would suit you. Members days are always the second Saturday in the month, and visitors are welcome, start from 9.00am until around 4.30 and beyond if required. Quote
