Michael Walker
Hey there everyone! My name is Michael and I’m new to the cute and blacksmithing. Just picked up my first anvil it’s a 150lbs Fisher eagle from the 60’s. I look forward to learning from you all and posting some of my work. Any advice helps. I have a LOT to learn. ThomasPowers
Don't worry; you can still do blacksmithing when the cute wears off! What kind of things are you interested in forging? Any historical association background? Have you looked up the local ABANA Affiliate to find a local group to attend meetings? One Saturday afternoon working with someone that know what they are doing can save a LOT of time trying to figure it out on your own---like what colour is "Cherry Red" (the term dates back to when cherries were orange-yellow rather than the Bing cherries that are dark red/black and so MUCH hotter temp than Bing cherry red...) Michael Walker
I haven’t figured out what exactly I am most interested in. Of course knives and axes are up there though. Thanks for the tip I will check it out and see what groups are around.
