ThomasPowers
Pioneer Sergeant, the holder of the only position within the British Army allowed to have a beard when on parade....The pioneer sergeant also acted as the blacksmith for the unit. As a result, he was allowed a beard to protect his face from the heat of the forge. rockstar.esq
I know at least one blacksmith who accidentally trimmed his beard when it got too close to the forge!
ThomasPowers
I know one who used to trim his braid in a similar fashion!
