Terry Humphries
I ran on to plans for this stand online and I'm linking the adjustable height. Has anyone ever used one? BGCM Anvil Stand
JHCC
The advantage of adjustable height is if you have a number of different people using the anvil (think classroom setting). The problem is that the horizontal grain of the boards will absorb the energy of the hammer blows, making the anvil less efficient and therefore more tiring to use. If the only person using the anvil will be you, measure the height from the floor to the crease of your wrist, subtract the height of your anvil, and build the stand to match the remainder. All that said, welcome to IFI. If you haven't yet, please READ THIS FIRST!!!
