acoop101
Has anyone tried using this for making knives? Does it hold it's edge or does it not have enough carbon in it? I have a bunch of 1 inch round stock drop outs from school that I don't have any idea what to do with.
Chuck Richards
not enough carbon for good edge retention. It will get somewhat hard and makes great hammers. Should have at least .5 carbon but .6-7 is better. My favorite mono steel is W-2 1. carbon and .18 vanadium with .25 manganese. Another great and forgiving steel is 5160. ThomasPowers
Hammers and other tooling! At 1" it will fit many flypress tool holders so you can make a bunch of flypress tools that would be appreciated by owners of such!
