August 4, 20178 yr Hey I'm new, just trying to get into forging. I was wondering if there was anyone on here from around my parts. Maybe you could show me the ropes of forging! And possibly direct some knowledgemy way about building a forge and where to find a good striking surface. Thanks! Captain Taco

August 4, 20178 yr There are a fair number of blacksmiths in the Maritimes. Where about are you in NS? Paul Fontaine in NB has some courses as does Grant Haverstock on Cape Breton. The guys in the Maritime blacksmith group are a great bunch of guys and I suspect that you will learn lots going to their meetings.
