TheoRockNazz
Every Monday starting at 6pm I will be live streaming from the forge. Join me as I forge knives daggers and swords, either starting a new forging or continuing one from the previous week. This stream is about forging and heat treating blades, so expect a lot of bashing and me rambling about knives, cats, and science fiction or video games. I will occasionally be joined by other knifemakers and blacksmiths who will be forging the things they love to make. Here's last night's stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/128490071
John in Oly, WA
Nice Theo! I'll be tuning in. I'd like to hear more about your 3D printing and casting experiences. Mainly because I just bought a 3D printer kit with the idea of printing and casting parts and pieces and am wondering if PLA works for this or if I need to go to something like that Moldlay wax-like filament. Or are you printing straight to metal?
TheoRockNazz
I've played a lot with at-home printers and decided a lil while ago to just use services, I can't compete with the quality of the $10,000 machines they buy each year. They print in wax then cast in bronze for me.
John in Oly, WA
Thanks Theo. That makes sense. I've just started playing with a home printer and I'm finding that out - the resolution isn't great. It'll work for some things, but for high quality/high resolution, the commercial printers can't be beat.
TheoRockNazz
Yeah... also, I don't trust myself with casting any more too lol Here's the latest episode: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/128490071
