Ken Kelley
I would like to find some more information on the helve hammer shown here: BP0159 Helve Hammer
irnsrgn
In my opinion it would be very well suited to that type of operation. The people who have used the two that I have made say they are equivalent to a 25# LG in operation, it has the speed and force ideal for fusing billets and it also has excellent control just like the Depew I more or less copied them after. The only change I would make is a bit larger motor probably a 1/2 hp. Like I keep telling people if you increase the top die weight you are gonna have to slow it down. As far as I know, there have been 3 clones of it in various forms made. One in Oz, one in Mississippi, and I can't remember the 3rd one.
