October 16, 20169 yr Not sure what I purchased. Bad pictures maybe little too much $ for a shot in the dark. Any thoughts you guys can gather from this picture?
October 16, 20169 yr More pix would help- from multiple angles. Give us some details- rebound, ring, etc. Any stamps or markings? I'm seeing the top of a (not badly) used anvil with a chalk number on it. I will commit to no more at this point. Steve
October 16, 20169 yr Author Well the issue is I bid and won this online yesterday at an auction in upstate New York. I live in North Mississippi. lol Luckily the auction company is stationed in TN about two hours north of my home and the auctioneer says he will get it back on a truck to their headquarters where I can make the short drive to pick it up. Hopefully they didn't leave it a 1,000 miles away if so I guess I wasted $170
October 16, 20169 yr That gives me some info- hard to tell too much more w/o details, but if you're into that anvil for $170, my opinion is that you did pretty well. Details will determine if you got a screamin' deal, worthy of admiration and praise. Keep us updated, and welcome to IFI. Add your location to your profile, so we all know where you're from (Yeah, I know it's in this thread). If you haven't already, set a spell and read through the whole site- I'm willing to bet most of your questions have been answered already. Steve
October 16, 20169 yr Author Thank you sir! Glad I have a place to come for some knowledgeable insight
October 17, 20169 yr Sir? Sir? (turning around to look behind me) Ain't no 'sir' around here. I'm Steve. Steve (again)
October 17, 20169 yr Drat, I live in Upstate NY and never saw that one. Hard to tell from a photo, but if I had to guess I'd say it is in the 120-250# range (unless that is an awful small stump, or the photo is distorted with some kind of parallax). I'd say if shipping doesn't run much you did great. Looks like a user...
October 19, 20169 yr Author Tax and auction fees I'll have $200 in it plus the drive to pick it up. My only issue is they say it won't be brought from New York to Tennessee until early next week. Just hope it makes it on a truck headed a lot closer to home than it's current location.
