RLS-ia
I bought a couple anvils I need help identifying , I have "Anvils in America" and from what I gathered the first one might be an Eagle? The second isn't all there and I bought it for my grandson, it has a unique base. Thanks
John McPherson
Afraid to say it, but you do not have any anvils, just two Anvil Shaped Objects. (ASO). The number is in the wrong place for a Fisher/Norris Eagle, and the chipped edges on the face do not indicate that it ever had a steel face. The other is the base of an anvil/vise multi-tool. It is hollow cast iron, never meant for serious use.
RLS-ia
Thanks, I didn't give much for them, just something for the grandsons to bang around on, I have a Trenton I use.
tonyw
I think there is information about that second hollow anvil over at anvilfire.com, in the anvil gallery perhaps?
