J.V.Reeve Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Howdy to all... I'm John. I'm from Waitsburg, down in the lower right corner of Washington... I'm an apprentice knife maker and a beginner at forge work. My mentor is J.L. Stewart of "Hot Damn Forge" located near Port Townsend, WA. I'm lucky enough to have put together a work area with a propane powered forge, a decent 115lb anvil, a leg vise, a Grizzly belt grinder, some hand tools and a big pile of "desire"... Being the babe-in-the-woods that I am, I'm really looking forward to learning the basics and hopefully more from this site and you all... Quote
Glenn Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Go to the opening page of IForgeIron.com > Getting Started, and follow the information trail. It will answer a lot of your questions, and provide answers to questions you have not ask yet. But always feel free to ask questions in the forum. Nothing like getting specific answers to a specific question. Welcome to IForgeIron. Quote
MRobb Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Hey there John. Welcome! I am also a "newbie" to smithing. There are many of us around, it seems. The "old timers" ( LOL ) are very nice & helpful! Happy hammering! :) Quote
